Sheridan’s boys jumped back into action after an 11-day break with a 71-59 victory Wednesday at Alexandria.
The Blackhawks led 18-14 after one quarter; Damon Winston had a solid period with nine points. Winston added another six in the second quarter, part of a 25-point outburst for Sheridan that saw six different players score. Trent DeCraene, Trey Page and Caleb Wright all contributed five points as the ‘Hawks soared to a 43-32 halftime lead.
The Tigers cut into Sheridan’s lead slightly in the third quarter, but the Blackhawks still were up 55-48 at the end of the period. DeCraene scored six points. Sheridan outscored Alexandria 16-11 in the fourth, with Wright throwing in a pair of 3s.
Four different ‘Hawks reached double figures in scoring, led by Winston’s 17 points. Wright scored 16 (including four 3s), DeCraene added 13 and Trey Page scored 11, making two triples.
Sheridan is 3-3 and plays at the Morristown Classic today. The Blackhawks take on Bishop Chatard at 1 p.m. and Monroe Central at 5:30 p.m.
