Bayh is building a broad, winning coalition and said he is proud to earn the support of two of Indiana’s largest labor unions.
United Steelworkers District 7 represents active and retired steelworkers across Indiana, Illinois, and Wisconsin, spanning steel, manufacturing, and energy industries.
“Beau Bayh is the kind of leader our members can trust to stand up for working Hoosiers in every corner of this state,” USW District 7 Director Mike Millsap said. “He’s made it clear that fighting corruption and protecting Hoosier taxpayers are worker issues. USW District 7 is proud to endorse Beau Bayh for Indiana Secretary of State.”
UAW Region 2B represents autoworkers and manufacturing employees throughout Indiana and Ohio, including workers at major assembly plants and automotive supply chain facilities across the state.
“Workers in Indiana need a Secretary of State who knows what’s at stake for workers and their families,” UAW Region 2B Director David Green said. “Beau Bayh has shown a real commitment to transparency, accountability, and the working people of this state. UAW Region 2B is behind his campaign because we are fighting for a future that values the working class.”
Bayh thanked both organizations for their endorsements.
“I’m deeply honored to earn the endorsement of USW District 7 and UAW Region 2B,” Bayh said. “These are organizations that fight every day for better wages, stronger benefits, and safer working conditions for Hoosiers. I will always stand with working people in our state, and as Secretary of State, I will safeguard their hard-earned tax dollars from wasteful spending and corruption.”
