The Fishers baseball team scored a walk-off run in the bottom of the seventh inning for a 2-1 win over the Eagles at the Tigers’ stadium. Fishers thus earned a split with Zionsville in both teams’ first Hoosier Crossroads Conference series of the season.

The Tigers scored their first run in the second inning. Caulin Brown reached on error, then Evan Doran came in to pinch run for him. Doran stole second, then Huston Dunn drew a walk. Noah McPeek came up next, and Doran stole third base. McPeek then bunted Doran home on a fielder’s choice, with every one safe.

The Eagles got the run back in the top of the third inning. The score would stay at 1-1 until the seventh inning. Ben Hammond led off by getting hit by a pitch, then moved to second on a groundout. After a strikeout, Jack Brown was intentionally walked. But Gavin Clayton stepped up, with a left field hit to score Hammond and get Fishers the victory.

Carson Dunn had two hits on the night, with Huston Dunn hitting a fourth-inning double. Gavin Kuzniewski pitched five innings and struck out 10; Kyle Manship threw the last two innings and got the win.

The Tigers are 4-3 overall and host Mount Vernon this afternoon for a doubleheader.
