NPX partners with Toys for Tots’ 75th year of serving children
Local non-profit Nickel Plate Express (NPX) has teamed up with Toys for Tots to support local families in need this holiday season.
NPX will run a toy drive all season long to collect new, unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots. Toys can be dropped off at the train depot station located inside Forest Park on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays throughout the holiday season.
“Toys for Tots is excited to partner with Nickel Plate Express for the 2022 Holiday season,” stated Toys for Tots Civilian Coordinator Sabrina Young. “This year is Toys for Tots’ 75th year. We are so thrilled to be able to partner with an organization that has a beautiful train and draws a huge crowd each holiday season. It was the perfect fit to our iconic Toys for Tots train logo.”
A special night with Santa will be offered from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 15. During this event, the public is asked to bring a toy donation for Toys for Tots. Santa will be on board the train for visits with families. Cookies and hot chocolate will be available for sale during the evening. The train will remain stationary through the evening giving families the opportunity to stop in at their convenience. No registration is required to participate in the event. Toys for Tots will have U.S. Marines at the station to collect the toys.
“Supporting our community and other non-profit organizations is an important part of what we do at Nickel Plate Express,” NPX Director Emily Reynolds said. “Sharing the holiday spirit and goodwill to families in Hamilton County is the highlight of our season. Working together with Toys for Tots was a great way to extend the work we do.”
Hobbs Station at Forest Park Depot is located at 825 Forest Park Drive, Noblesville. For information about the variety of NPX excursions visit nickelplateexpress.com.
