NHS girls lacrosse holds off Assumption

The Noblesville girls lacrosse team won a tough game over Assumption (Louisville) Saturday at Bishop Chatard, with the final score 10-9.
The Rockets scored the first goal, but the Millers scored the next two to take the lead, and would hold an advantage for the remainder of the game. Noblesville led 6-5 at halftime and went up 10-6 with under three minutes to play; Maya Hill scored three goals in the second half. Assumption then scored three goals in the final three minutes, but the Millers held off the Rockets.
Noblesville had eight forced turnovers as a team; Nataley Blackburn and Aubrey Arms both had two. Arms, Lila Julian and Avery Pohlman each made one interception, and Adi Terry was a rock as goalkeeper, with 21 saves.
Guinnie Salas and Blackburn both scored two goals, while Marisha Woehler, Isabel Imes and Chole Barnett each scored one. Blackburn made seven draw controls and Emma Hammond had four.
Noblesville is 5-5 for the season.

Noblesville’s Junior Varsity Black team played in the fifth annual Brebeuf Jesuit JV Girls Metro Invitational on Saturday, and finished the day 2-1.
The Millers beat Cathedral 9-4 in their first game. Katelyn Etchison and Kaelyn Seyfried each scored two goals, while goalkeeper Emilia Bullock had six saves.
Noblesville dropped its second game to Hamilton Southeastern 6-4, but rebounded to win its third game, 12-1 over Fishers. Seven different players combined to dish out eight total assists, with six players scoring goals. Seyfried had three goals, Mia Price and Brie Hassan both scored two, and Adeline Haney, Lydia Dumas and Lindsey Vu each scored one.
