Girls lacrosse: Noblesville has successful Saturday

The Noblesville girls lacrosse teams hosted Leo and Penn in junior varsity and varsity games Saturday at Beaver Materials Field.
The Millers would have a successful day, with four wins and one tie. Each team played well in the cold, rainy and windy conditions.
Noblesville’s JV Gold team started by tying Leo 4-4. Neve Sloffer scored two goals while Tatiana De Paz and Clara Peters each contributed one goal. The JV Gold then cruised past Penn 8-1, improving its record to 2-1-1 for the season. Penny Page led the attack with four goals, with Peters adding two goals, and De Paz and Sloffer each scoring one goal.
Goalkeepers Emilia Bullock and Abbie Nickloy shared the goalkeeper duties in both games, with Nickloy making five saves and Bullock making four. Sloffer totaled nine ground balls for the two games.
The Noblesville JV Black team won both of its games. First, the Millers beat Penn’s JV Gold squad 10-0. Eight different players scored goals for the Millers. Katelyn Seyfried and Kately Etchison each put in two goals, with Seyfried making three forced turnovers. Lydia Dumas collected six draw controls.
In its second game, JV Black defeated Leo 10-2, once again with eight different players scoring goals. Seyfried and Etchison both scored two goals, while Maya Narsinghani had one goal and one assist. Noblesville collected 26 ground balls; Maddie Frost picked up five ground balls. Adeline Haney made three forced turnovers. JV Black is now 2-2 for the season.
The Millers’ varsity team then took to the field, where it beat Penn 5-4, improving its record to 2-1 for the season.
Noblesville led 3-1 at halftime. The Kingsmen started the second half strong, scoring twice to tie the game at 3-3. The Millers scored again to take the lead, but Penn answered with a goal with 12 minutes left. Finally, with two minutes left, Maya Hill scored the go-ahead goal off an assist by Marisha Woehler.
Hill scored two goals and Woehler dished out two assists. Four different players scored for Noblesville, and as a team the Millers collected 19 ground balls (from 13 different players) and made nine forced turnovers.
The Millers travel to Guerin Catholic on Tuesday, with JV Black playing at 5:30 p.m., followed by varsity at 7 p.m.

In earlier games, Guerin Catholic beat Westfield 19-5 on Thursday. Mariah Ross scored nine goals for the Golden Eagles.
Fishers beat North Central 16-1 in another Thursday game.
