On Aug. 1, the Sheridan Education Foundation, Inc. (SEFI) held its annual Jeep Invasion, the main fundraiser for the educator grants SEFI distributes. Despite the rain and bad weather, 134 Jeeps along with many Sheridan community members attended the event.
All afternoon and evening long, the Jeep Invasion held strong. With enthusiasts playing Jeep trivia, Jeep owners were then honored with awards such as the oldest Jeep, the Jeep that traveled the farthest, and best set of wheels.
The local vendors also braved the weather. Attendees were able to enjoy food, shopping, and community while the Bishops Band took the stage and provided live entertainment. A total of $29,000 was made in profit for SEFI.
The profits made from the fundraiser go directly toward the educator grants for Sheridan Community School educators. These grants help provide supplies, services, and enhanced learning opportunities for students at SCS.
The Jeep Invasion could not have happened without the help and support from the Sheridan Police, Fire, and Street departments, the Sheridan Town Board, Sheridan Community Schools, and the multiple businesses and community members. The event also could not have happened without this year’s Platinum sponsors. They included:
- AVS&R
- Brimberrys
- Burlington Promotions
- Central Outdoors
- Charleston’s
- CSO
- Daughters Property Group
- EMC Precision
- First Bank Midwest
- First Farmers Bank and Trust
- Gaylor Electric
- Greeks
- Hamilton County Tourism
- Legacy Images
- Lyons Realty
- Neff Family
- Olympus
- Patton Auto
- Sheridan American Legion
- Sugar Boo Properties
- Waitt’s
- WKRP Indy
Next year’s Jeep Invasion is scheduled for Aug. 7, 2027. The event will once again feature the Bishops Band along with old and new activities, vendors, awards, and, as always, community spirit. Since the grants began in January 2024, the SEFI has been able to award more than $60,000 to SCS educators. These funds have helped provide science equipment, reading materials, agricultural education supplies, audio and video equipment, iPads, whiteboards, calculators, art supplies, and so much more.
The 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that is the Sheridan Education Foundation, Inc., helps educators promote student engagement and learning. So please, come out in 2027 for another day of Jeeps and helping support Sheridan educators and students.
