Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana annual gala set for Oct. 3

Fewer than 50 days remain until “The Main Event,” an immersive evening benefitting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana (BBBSCI). Taking place at the JW Marriott in Indianapolis on Saturday, Oct. 3, BBBSCI’s annual gala celebrates the life-changing impact of mentorship while raising critical funds to support local youth.

The Main Event is BBBSCI’s largest fundraiser of the year featuring Title Sponsor Delta Faucet Company and will feature a high-class dinner, vibrant dancing, and mission-focused program in an upbeat atmosphere.

“This year, more than ever, The Main Event is more than a gala,” BBBSCI CEO Darcey Palmer-Shultz said. ‘It’s an immersive experience celebrating the magic created from mentoring friendships and the people who make this work possible. We’re excited to have the Central Indiana community take center stage, as they experience the magic behind mentorship. It’s truly a night you won’t want to miss.”

This year’s gala centers around the theme “The Magic of Mentoring” and will feature local magician Jon Mobley as emcee and performer. As seen on Penn & Teller: Fool Us!, The CW, and more, Mobley will captivate the crowd with his signature blend of humor and mind-bending illusions. Guests are also encouraged to dress their best Roaring Twenties-inspired attire, including flapper dresses, three-piece suits, sequined headbands, and more.

From community organizations to individual supporters, The Main Event recognizes the Central Indiana partners whose commitment helps build brighter futures for local youth. In addition to a magical program and mind-bending performance by Mobley, attendees can participate in a silent auction, where every dollar raised directly supports BBBSCI programs and initiatives, and explore a Prohibition-style speakeasy.

Each year, BBBSCI serves more than 1,255 young people ages 8 to 25 across Hamilton, Johnson, and Marion counties. The organization’s mission is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. This work is not possible without “Bigs,” caring men and women aged 19 years or older who are interested in being a part of a child’s life twice per month for a minimum of one year. No special degree or professional experience is required. All it takes is a desire to make a positive difference.
