On Tuesday, July 14, The Reporter published an article about Independent Secretary of State Candidate Greg Ballard’s various reported number of signatures gathered to make sure he would have a place on the November ballot. You can read that short article at this link.

After our July 14 edition was published, Ballard’s campaign reported the following:

Independent Indiana Secretary of State Candidate Greg Ballard today accepted the nomination of thousands of Hoosiers when he delivered 41,299 verified signatures to the Secretary of State’s office for the official final count. The signature delivery is the next step in the process to ensure Ballard is on November’s ballot. The former Indianapolis mayor submitted more than the 36,943 petition signatures required under Indiana law.

While that number is sufficient to place Ballard on the ballot in November, it matches none of the other signature numbers reported by his campaign.
