On Saturday, June 27, the Humane Society for Hamilton County (HSHC) will hold its exclusive Saturday Safety Microchip Match event, with discounted microchips offered from 9 to 11 a.m.
All microchip procedures will be reduced to just $25 when participants make a $25 donation to HSHC’s June Matching Campaign. Plus, if you’re one of the first 10 individuals to stop by, the humane society will give you one microchip for free.
The shelter hopes to use this event to rally the community and promote pet safety in preparation for the Fourth of July holiday. HSHC urges community members to make an early action plan to keep their pets calm during fireworks shows, and make sure your ID tags and microchips are up to date.
“Fireworks may be fun for us, but they can be terrifying for our pets, and with the holiday just around the corner, now is the time to take early action,” HSHC Community Engagement Manager Emma Nobbe said. “For community members who haven’t microchipped their pets, we hope this event will give them the opportunity to keep their pet extra safe this Fourth of July.”
The Fourth of July is often one of the busiest days for a shelter to take in lost animals, but microchipping can provide permanent, tamper-proof identification that significantly increases your chances of being reunited with a lost pet. Now is the time to begin preparing your home for the Fourth of July, and if you haven’t microchipped your pet, stop by the Humane Society for Hamilton County at 10501 Hague Road, Fishers, on Saturday, June 27, to keep your pet safe over the holiday weekend.
