The City of Noblesville and SMC Corporation of America partnered to celebrate Forest Park’s 100th anniversary with a community tree planting event on Tuesday, Oct. 28.

As part of the centennial celebration, more than 25 SMC employee volunteers will join city parks staff to plant 45 new trees throughout Forest Park. The project commemorates the park’s century-long legacy and reflects the shared commitment of both organizations to sustainability and community growth.

“At SMC, sustainability is one of our core values – not just in the products we make, but in how we engage with our community,” said Kelley Stacy, President and CEO of SMC Corporation of America. “We’re proud to support the City of Noblesville and help mark this historic milestone by planting trees that will benefit the community for generations to come.”

The collaboration underscores the strong relationship between the city and local employers like SMC, who play an active role in advancing community initiatives and environmental stewardship. Together, they’re helping ensure Noblesville remains a vibrant, sustainable place to live and work.

“The City of Noblesville is grateful to SMC Corporation for their continued partnership and investment to support sustainability within our community,” Noblesville Mayor Chris Jensen said. “As we celebrate Forest Park’s 100 years, we must make investments now that will have a positive impact for the next one hundred years.”

The tree planting is part of SMC’s annual Day of Service program, which engages employees in volunteer projects that promote environmental stewardship and community well-being. For the city, the event adds to a series of centennial activities honoring one of Indiana’s most beloved public spaces and ensuring it continues to thrive for the next 100 years.
