The Indianapolis Baroque Orchestra announces its vibrant 29th season celebrating the genius of Johann Sebastian Bach – and the extraordinary legacy he inspired. Artistic Director Barthold Kuijken will lead and perform in two concerts.
“Our 29th season was designed to inspire audiences across the city with thrilling repertoire performed by some of the country’s best period-musicians,” IBO flutist and Managing Director Leighann Daihl Ragusa said. “We are delighted to share our performances with the community and hope everyone will join us for this unforgettable season.”
This season unfolds across four thoughtfully curated concerts plus the return of the Blakeman Gerber International Baroque Competition. From the legacy of Bach’s own family to the profound beauty of his sacred cantatas, the exuberance of Eastertide celebrations, and the cosmopolitan flair of Telemann and his contemporaries, audiences will experience a journey through Baroque music’s most inspiring voices. Concerts will be presented in venues across Indianapolis, each featuring an engaging pre-concert talk to welcome listeners into the music.
General admission tickets are $35, and seniors can get tickets for $25 and students for $15. Purchase a season subscription and enjoy a 20 percent discount at IndyBaroque.org, where you can see the whole season lineup.
