Indiana Artisan Gallery on Range Line Road in Carmel has stepped up once again to play host to the Carmel International Arts Festival (CIAF) student art show and scholarship competition.
The gallery will provide over one-half of its space to display and estimated 140 art pieces from Carmel High School and University High School students.
According to Indiana Artisan Gallery Director Rosalyn Demaree, “We have been hosting the student exhibition for the Festival since 2019. It is very rewarding to encourage local young artists.”
The festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27 and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 28.
Participating in CIAF aligns with the Indiana Artisan Gallery’s mission to strengthen Indiana’s creative communities by connecting people to a select group of artisans who create exceptional fine art and crafts, food, and beverages.
In addition to providing a professional space for students to display selected art works, the Indiana Artisan Gallery will sponsor two “People’s Choice” scholarship awards for $500 each. The awards will allow gallery visitors to vote on their favorite art submissions. Voting will take place Saturday, Sept. 27 and Sunday, Sept. 28 at the Indiana Artisan Gallery, at 22 N. Range Line Road, Carmel.
Running since 1997, CIAF is a two-day exhibition of 100 to 140 professional artists working in nine media: jewelry, paint, 3D, 2D, wood, ceramics, glass, fiber, and photography. Art is unique, not mass produced, and of the highest quality. Approximately 33 percent of the artists come from Indiana. In 2023, eight other states were represented, as well as Carmel’s international sister cities. Many of these artists will return this year.
