Today is the day. You have read about it. You have dreamt about it. You have clicked on and scrolled past the ads about it. You have cringed about parking somewhere to get to it. You have counted down the days for it.
Now, finally and at long last, the fifth annual Indiana Peony Festival is here! Depending on how early you read The Reporter each day, maybe it’s going on right now at Historic Seminary Park, 350 S. 10th St., Noblesville.
Get out there to sniff the flowers, take the photos, build the memories and – if you can spare a few moments and a couple dollars – show some of the sponsors who make it all possible some HamCo springtime love. A full list of sponsors is available at this link.
The creme de la creme of the flower world in a show with everything but Yul Brynner
Very Important Peony People packed the park Friday evening before and – from what we are told – after the storms rolled through. Like all the other flower fans, The Reporter enjoyed some tasty treats, sipped refreshing beverages, and caught up with several old friends at Seminary Park, 350 S. 10th St., Noblesville.
Then the severe weather sirens blared just after 7 p.m. and this photographer high-tailed it out of town, afraid to get blown to the Land of Oz. But fear not, for today you can go enjoy much calmer weather while you partake of the peony plentitude from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Reporter’s own Amy Shankland rolled in after the storms, and you can read her reflections next Friday on the front petals of Hamilton County’s Hometown Flowerpaper.
