Purdue University junior guard Braden Smith received another major accolade on Tuesday.
Smith was named to the Associated Press All-America First Team.
The Westfield High School graduate is averaging 16.1 points and 8.7 assists per game this season.
Here is a look at the five players who make up the AP All-America First Team:
- Duke’s Cooper Flagg
- Auburn’s Johni Broome
- Purdue’s Braden Smith
- Alabama’s Mark Sears
- Florida’s Walter Clayton, Jr.
It’s the latest honor for Smith, who just last week was named the Big Ten Player of the Year.
Earlier this year, Smith became Purdue basketball’s all-time leader in assists.
Purdue, which is a four seed in the NCAA Tournament, will play 13th-seeded High Point on Thursday in the first round. Tip-off is set for 12:40 p.m. EDT in Providence, Rhode Island.
