Dennis Lee Ganz

December 20, 1947 – February 20, 2025

On February 20, 2025, the world lost a gem of a person, Dennis Lee Ganz, born on December 20, 1947, in Chicago, Ill.

Dennis was known for his loving, loyal, humble, and supportive nature. He was a steadfast figure in the lives of many, a beacon of consistency and compassion. As a master technician, he was respected in his profession, but it was his personal life that truly defined him. He was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life, and whether it was drag racing, fishing, bowling, being out on the lake, or even playing pool, Dennis lived life fully and heartily.

Dennis was a picture of love and dedication, his family being the center of his universe. His marriage to Charmaine Ganz on November 10, 1973, was the start of a beautiful journey marked by shared dreams, laughter, and an enduring love. Their bond was a testament to their mutual respect and understanding and was a source of inspiration for many. Being a loving father to his son, Christopher, and a doting grandfather to Jaxson, Dennis instilled in them the values of commitment, care, and compassion. He is also survived by his sister, Debby, and several nephews who will forever remember his kindness and generosity.

Dennis, however, had his share of profound losses. He was preceded in death by his father, Sergio Ganz, his mother, Patricia Ganz, his son, Denny Ganz, and his brothers, Robert, Ricky, and Gary Ganz. Yet, despite these losses, he carried on with life, displaying resilience and strength that was admired by all who knew him.

The visitation will take place at noon on Friday, February 28, 2025, at Hartley Funeral Homes, Cicero. This will be followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. and a private burial at 3 p.m.

Dennis Ganz was a man of many virtues, and he left an indelible mark on the hearts of those he touched. His memory will live on in the stories, laughter, and love he left behind. As we celebrate his life, we invite you to share your memories and upload photos of Dennis on the memorial page. Let us come together to remember a life well-lived, and a man greatly loved.
