Westfield Youth Assistance Program invites you to family-friendly “Paddle Battle for a Cause” pickleball event

Westfield Youth Assistance Program (WYAP) will hold its first pickleball event on Friday, Dec. 27, “Paddle Battle for a Cause,” at the Grand Park Event Center.

The family-friendly event will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is open to families and individuals of all skill levels.

WYAP serves youth ages 3 to 17 who are facing challenging life circumstances, connecting them with resources in the community. The “Paddle Battle for a Cause” event aims to be family-friendly to reflect the population that WYAP serves. Families are encouraged to participate together, and while there is no age limit, it is recommended for participants to be six and older.

The event opens with an hour-long clinic hosted by Indiana University Pickleball Coach Timber Tucker. Registrants will receive a free lunch, which will be followed by gameplay to utilize their new skills.

“The ‘Paddle Battle for a Cause’ is more than just a pickleball event – it’s a chance for families to come together, stay active during the holiday break, and support an incredible cause,” WYAP Board Member Rachel Nelson said. “Every paddle swing and every laugh shared on the court helps us continue to serve Westfield’s youth and their families, making a lasting impact in our community.”

There are three different pricing tiers based on the number of registrants. A family four-pack is priced at $200 (four players of any age), a two-pack is priced at $110 (two players of any age), and an individual registration is $60 per person. More information and registration are available at this link.

“Paddle Battle for a Cause” is sponsored by Automatic Pool Covers, Inc. and Westfield Rocks Referrals Group. Proceeds from the event will benefit WYAP, serving youth in the Westfield community. To learn more about WYAP’s mission and services, please visit youthassistance.org/westfield.
