Donations increased from previous year to help young adults transitioning out of foster care
Foster Success recently raised a record $73,833 as part of the nonprofit organization’s FriendsGiving 2023 fundraising campaign thanks to generous donors and sponsors. The organization’s annual campaign raised $63,000, with about $15,000 in matching funds, in 2022.
Foster Success is the only statewide nonprofit organization supporting teens and young adults transitioning out of Indiana’s foster care system.
FriendsGiving is Foster Success’ holiday season fundraising and awareness campaign. It encourages those who have the privilege to spend time with their family and friends during the holidays to help support those who do not. The funds raised during this campaign help Foster Success ensure young adults transitioning out of the foster care system receive the support and resources they need to succeed.
“This year’s campaign included a new, sold-out signature event – Taste of Thanks,” Foster Success Chief Development and Communications Officer Travis Tester said. “The event helped us raise even more funds to educate our young people about finances, get them connected to health and wellness programs, and assist them with purchasing their first car or getting their first apartment.”
