Heritage Christian outscored the University girls 19-4 in the first four minutes of the third quarter and went on to hand the Trailblazers a 58-47 defeat Tuesday night.
Anyah Turley had 17 points and a career-high nine rebounds for the Trailblazers, who lost their fourth straight game. Charlotte Conyers had 10 points and seven rebounds. Mack Feeney had a game-high 14 rebounds.
University got off to a fast start scoring the first nine points of the game. Turley opened the scoring with a three-point play then added a bucket off a Feeney offensive rebound. Conyers scored after a Turley rebound and Feeney added a basket off a Conyers assist.
Two buckets by Conyers and a Turley basket with 10 seconds left gave University a 15-8 lead at the first quarter break.
The Eagles scored the first seven points of the second quarter to knot the game at 15, the first of three ties in the quarter. Keira Bright made a basket with six seconds left to send the Blazers to halftime with a 24-22 lead.
Heritage Christian took the lead for good at 26-24 one minute in to second half and broke the game open scoring a trio of three pointers in 50 seconds to open up an 11-point lead at 36-27. University was unable to get closer than nine the rest of the game.
Mya Davis led the Eagles with 21. Joslyn Marshall had 12 and Casey Frost 10.
Heritage Christian improved to 12-9. University falls to 11-9. The Trailblazers are next in action Thursday at Tri-West.
