Tigers go big in fourth quarter, quelling Flashes

The Fishers girls sprinted to the finish on Friday, as the Tigers used a big fourth quarter to beat Franklin Central 44-35 in their Hoosier Crossroads Conference and regular-season finales.

Fishers led 13-11 after the first quarter, with the Flashes coming back in the second to lead 21-19. Nevaeh Dickman scored seven points for the Tigers in the first half.

Dickman and Riley Schellhammer both scored four points in the third quarter, helping Fishers to tie the game at 27-27 by the end of the period. The Tigers then cruised through the fourth period, outscoring Franklin Central 17-8. Dickman scored eight points, while Schellhammer added five.

Dickman finished the game with 21 points, scoring in each quarter. Schellhammer scored nine, including a 6-of-6 effort from the free-throw line. Natalie Thomas also had nine points.

Fishers finished HCC play 4-3 and is 14-8 for the season. The Tigers play Hamilton Southeastern Tuesday in the first round of Sectional 8 at Noblesville.
