Republican State Senator Victoria Spartz has announced she is seeking a second term in the Indiana State Senate representing District 20, which is comprised of portions of Hamilton County.

Spartz

Spartz was elected by a caucus in 2017 to complete the term of former Senator Luke Kenley (R-Noblesville), who retired.

A native of Ukraine who grew up in the former socialist Soviet Union, Spartz has a unique prospective and enormous value for all freedoms we enjoy as Americans.

“We can never forget that the solution to most problems we have in our society is less government and more freedom and competition, whether it’s education or healthcare,” said Spartz. “We must concentrate on core government functions to maintain law and order and an effective criminal justice system, protect private property rights, empower individuals to pursue happiness, and maintain a vibrant business environment.”

A businesswoman, farmer, CPA, and former Big 4 and Fortune 500 auditor, finance executive and university educator, Spartz sits on several key Senate Standing Committees: Education and Career Development, Environmental Affairs, and Pensions and Labor. She is also the Chair of the Audit Subcommittee of the Legislative Council.

During her two sessions in the legislature, Spartz passed bills to advance fiscal oversight and accountability, improve education, implement election audits, expand prevention in the juvenile justice system; and started major working groups on improving government accountability and transparency, criminal justice system, health care cost and value and education outcomes.

Moving forward, Spartz says her priorities include completing her efforts in enhancing fiscal responsibility and accountability to taxpayers; improving the health care system; aligning education with the demands of the 21st century; improving the regulatory environment for small businesses and entrepreneurs; protecting private property rights and individual freedoms; reforming the welfare system; and streamlining the criminal justice system.

Spartz resides in Noblesville with her husband and two daughters.
