The Hamilton Southeastern baseball team picked up a Friday sweep of Brownsburg to open up Hoosier Crossroads Conference play.
In their first game, the Royals beat the Bulldogs 8-5. Alex Billman got Southeastern’s first run in the second inning, getting home on a passed ball.
The Royals added three runs in the third inning, all with two outs. Tyler Noel singled in Maddux Bach, then Kam Seitz and Noel got home on separate passed balls.
Brownsburg stormed back in the fourth inning, scoring four runs to tie the game. The Bulldogs took the lead with a sixth-inning run, but HSE put up four in the bottom of the sixth to clinch the conference contest.
Parker O’Steen singled in Colin Goley to tie the game. Drew LaFleur came in to run for O’Steen and was eventually sent home by a Seitz double. Seitz and Bach later scored on a Noel single, giving Noel three RBIs for the game. Billman hit a double in the fifth inning.
Dylan Cope got the pitching win, with six strikeouts in three and one-third innings. He only allowed two hits. Ethan Lund threw three and two-thirds innings of no-hit ball in relief, striking out seven.

Southeastern took care of Brownsburg 6-0 in the second game.
The Royals scored two runs in the third inning. Noel led off with a triple, then scored on a wild pitch. Nolan Colbert got home after LaFleur reached on an error.
Southeastern put up its other four runs in the fourth inning. Michael Hoog got home on a wild pitch, then Evan Haas scored after Luke Sivak drew a bases-loaded walk. LaFleur came up next, and he was hit by a pitch to bring in Colbert. Bach was then hit by a pitch, and that scored Goley.
Josh Lesniewski went six and one-third inning for the win, striking out seven against two hits.
The Royals are 2-0 in conference play and 5-2 overall. Southeastern’s next game is Tuesday at Carmel.
