Lavery
The board of directors of OrthoIndy and OrthoIndy Hospital announced Tuesday, Dec. 16 the appointment of Dr. Matthew Lavery as chief executive officer. Dr. Lavery also serves as president of the board of directors, a role he has held since January 2024.
An established physician leader, Dr. Lavery brings extensive organizational knowledge and proven operational insight to this expanded position. He has served on the board for more than a decade and has a deep understanding of the organization’s mission and long-term vision.
During his tenure as board president, Dr. Lavery has helped advance the alignment between OrthoIndy and Indiana Hand to Shoulder Center and support the upcoming openings of the new OrthoIndy clinic and Franciscan/OrthoIndy Surgery Center in West Lafayette. As CEO, he will lead ongoing efforts to elevate the patient experience, strengthen operations and support physicians and staff across the system.
“It is an honor to step into this role and continue supporting the mission and people of OrthoIndy in a new way,” Dr. Lavery said. “I look forward to working with our physicians, staff and community partners to build on our strengths and ensure OrthoIndy remains a trusted destination for those seeking advanced, patient-centered orthopedic care.”
In addition to serving as president and CEO, Dr. Lavery will continue caring for patients in his clinical practice. He succeeds former OrthoIndy CEO John Ryan, whose new position within IU Health was announced in November.
