Millers fall on the road at Warren Central

The REPORTER

A slow start for the Noblesville boys basketball team helped host Warren Central keep at a distance for the 55-44 home win.

The Millers and the Warriors met up on the basketball court on Friday for just the fourth time. The previous meeting between the two was just over seven years ago on Dec. 28, 2017 in the championship game of the Noblesville Holiday Tournament with the Warriors grabbing that win, 51-37. Prior to that, the Millers had won the first two matchups.

Warren Central was able to get off to a better start with a 12-6 lead through one quarter.

The Millers started to get things going in the second with a 14-13 edge that had them trailing 25-20 af halftime.

It was an even third period 12-12 that kept it at a five-point deficit for Noblesville at 37-32.

The Warriors had a strong fourth 17-12 to pull away for the win.

Noblesville (5-4) gets very little rest and is back at it today with an afternoon meeting against Arsenal Tech (1-7) at 3 p.m.

The Millers were led by Baron Walker’s 23 points on 8-for-15 shooting, including 6-of-6 free throws. T.J. Davidson had nine and Justin Curry was held to five on just 1-for-9 field goals.
