Last week, Joel Levi officially filed his candidacy for Indiana State Senate District 20. The district spans much of Hamilton County, including Noblesville, significant parts of Carmel, and Cicero, where Levi resides with his wife and son.

A first-time candidate, Levi said was drawn to running for public office due to the public safety crisis the state is facing.

“As a parent, I cannot possibly imagine the heartbreak that too many Hoosier parents go through when losing a child to gun crime,” Levi said. “But instead of getting to work solving this crisis, we have a state legislature making it easier for bad actors to access firearms.”

The race for Senate District 20 will be competitive.

“Unlike in the prior 2020 election, Senator Baldwin now has a record from which he cannot hide,” Levi said. “Since taking office, he’s voted restricting abortion access and passing permitless concealed carry. Complementing his extreme voting record are his leaked ties to the Oath Keepers and controversial comments on Nazism.”

Levi said Hamilton County voters deserve a Senator “who represents their values, as Hoosiers and Americans.” He said he will be a Senator who will work with both sides of the aisle to deliver results on the economy and public safety.

Levi began his career as a professional singer-songwriter before transitioning to the healthcare field. He currently works as a Pharmacy Technician at Riverview Health in Noblesville.
