Jimmie Kent “Finney” Pearson, 76, Cicero, passed away on April 19, 2022, at his home.
He was born March 29, 1946, in Noblesville to Cecil and Mildred (Purkey) Pearson. He grew up and lived in Cicero all his life. He attended Jackson Township schools and graduated from Jackson Central High School with the Class of 1965.
He had worked for over 25 years at Allison Transmission Company in Indianapolis, where he was an inspector of computer chips that were installed in aircraft. He then worked an additional five years in a similar capacity at Delphi Electronics in Kokomo.
Jimmie attended First Christian Church in Sheridan and was a member of the Elwood Conservation Club.
He enjoyed boating, camping and target practicing. From a young age, Jimmie had a love of fast cars, and during his lifetime he owned three Corvettes, three Cameros, a Miata and a Hurst/Olds. His wife stated that when they were dating, he gave her the keys to one of his fast cars, and she then knew she was going to be his wife.
He married Emily Kay (Bundy) Pearson on July 5, 1986. She survives him. Also surviving are nieces and nephews, Johnna Baldwin, Kari Lee, Autumn Bundy, Johnnie Baldwin, Holly Dorsey, Avery Bundy and Shane Joyner; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth (Richard) Lee; and a brother-in-law, Michael (Malinda) Bundy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Alice Baldwin, and a niece, Karen Baldwin.
A celebration of life will be held from noon to 3 p.m. on May 15 at Red Bridge Park Community Center in Cicero. Burial will take place at Cicero Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Cicero Friends of the Parks, P.O. Box 754, Cicero, IN 46034.
