Jerry L. Plummer

June 15, 1942 – April 23, 2026

Jerry L. Plummer, 83, Anderson passed away on April 23, 2026, at his home.

He was born June 15, 1942, in Anderson to Carl E. and Clara (Trick) Plummer. Survivors include his wife, Janice (Jan) Bardonner Plummer, whom he married June 28, 1980. He is also survived by a son, Rex Plummer, three grandchildren, one great-grandchild, 10 nieces and nephews, 15 great-nieces and great-nephews, and two great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ronald Plummer and Harold Wayne Plummer; and son, Theodore (Ted) Plummer.

Jerry graduated from Madison Heights High School. He attended Ball State University and American Barber School. Jerry attained the position of Specialist 1st Class of the 4th Infantry in the Army where he was Crew Chief of the Huey Helicopter.

Jerry was a barber at the Anderson Mounds Mall Barber Shop for 12 years and worked at Delco Remy in Anderson for 30 years.

Jerry was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Arcadia. He was a member of the American Legion Post 212 in Lapel.

Jerry enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed spending time in his man cave. He fulfilled a longtime goal of owning a motorcycle when he purchased his 2002 Harley Davidson Low Rider. He enjoyed riding with his friends. Jerry also was an avid reader. If he didn’t have a book to read, he would read the encyclopedia.

Following his stroke in 2021 he was in various medical facilities. The family would especially like to thank Northview Health and Living in Anderson for their care of him. They were so caring and treated him and his family like part of their family.

Visitation will be at Hartley-Dunnichay Funeral Home in Cicero from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 2026. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 8 at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Arcadia, and burial will be in the Emanuel Cemetery Arcadia.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Emanuel Lutheran Church.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Hartley-Dunnichay Funeral Home in Cicero.
