Ivy Tech Hamilton County celebrates graduates

Ivy Tech Community College of Hamilton County celebrated the academic and leadership accomplishments of its graduates during its commencement ceremony on May 11.

The Hamilton County campus also held its inaugural nursing pinning ceremony on the Friday prior to graduation. The Pinning Ceremony occurs at the end of a student’s program in a school of nursing and signifies the completion of this level of education and official initiation into the profession. This cohort of 18 students is the first to complete the nursing program on the Hamilton County campus.

In addition to recognizing 2024 graduates, Outstanding Student Awards were presented. These awards are faculty nominated and are presented to students in each of the seven academic schools. Students receiving the Outstanding Student Awards demonstrate excellence in academics and in the campus community.

Local Outstanding Students included:

  • Lucas Sarver, Fishers – School of Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering and Applied Sciences
  • Mayra Cisneros, Fishers – School of Arts, Science and Education
  • Emma Ping, Cicero – School of Nursing
  • Sean Jelley, Noblesville – School of Information Technology
  • Brooklyn McCandless, Carmel – School of Public and Social Services
