Dear Editor:
I’m Coumba Kebe, and I’m running to be your next State Treasurer.
The truth is, I never saw myself running for political office. But after being ignored by my state representatives and senators when I advocated for Hoosiers facing challenges, I knew something had to change.
Regardless of how you vote or which political party you support, we can all agree that elected officials ignoring the people is not democracy or good governance.
Indiana’s Treasurer manages billions of your taxpayer dollars. You deserve to know where that money goes, how it’s invested, and whether those decisions serve your interests.
My priority is keeping Indiana’s dollars working here at home, not prioritizing investments in foreign government bonds. I’ll bring clarity to this office and work with lawmakers on challenges ranging from Medicaid and childcare to financial pressures impacting rural communities and farmers. These issues affect our families, businesses, and Indiana’s long-term economic strength.
I’ve managed multimillion-dollar budgets and complex operations. I’ve learned that behind every number is a person, a family, a business owner, and a community counting on us to make the right decisions.
I’m not running to make government bigger or give it more influence over your life. I’m running to make government work better for you.
These are your dollars, your communities, and your future.
You deserve a Treasurer who remembers that. I would love to earn your vote on Nov. 3.
Coumba Kebe
Democratic candidate for Indiana State Treasurer
