Hamilton Southeastern’s basketball teams were in action again last Saturday.

The Royals boys traveled to Mount Vernon, where they pulled out a tough 48-44 victory. Southeastern led 12-9 after the first quarter, but the Marauders came back in the second to lead 21-17 at halftime.

The Royals blasted through the third period, outscoring Mount Vernon 18-6 for a 35-27 lead. The Marauders got within three points during the final minute of the game, but HSE made free throws and got rebounds, and that was enough for the win.

Nathaniel Orr led the Royals with 19 points and eight rebounds, and also made 8 of 9 free throws. Donovan Hamilton added 12 points and four rebounds, blocking two shots as well.

Southeastern’s boys are 11-5 and play at Noblesville Friday for a Hoosier Crossroads Conference game, then host Pendleton Heights on Saturday.
