Whatever iconic activity you think of as the beginning of the small-town American Christmas season, Arcadia probably had you covered on Saturday. Santa and Mrs. Claus greeted kids in a little wood elf-made house.
[Editor’s note: in the 1970 Rankin/Bass claymation TV movie “Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town,” Mrs. Claus was identified with the name “Jessica.” Thank you to Reporter Columnist Megan Rathz for pointing this out to us after our last reference to Santa’s unnamed wife.]
Trucks were stung with lights. Streets were danced in. Costumes were worn for the amusement and “aww that’s cute” factor. And a tree was lit. Oh yes, Arcadia lit the heck out of their tree surrounded by a proud crowd. Oh, and lest we forget, this was an all-volunteer event!
