Golden Eagles win sixth straight game

Guerin Catholic ran its win streak to six consecutive games on Saturday, Feb. 7 with a solid 66-57 win at Culver Academies.

The Golden Eagles led 12-9 after one quarter, but Culver came back in the second period to lead 25-22 at halftime. Guerin Catholic took control in the third period, outscoring the Culver Eagles 14-7 for a 36-32 lead.

The fourth quarter was a high-scoring one. Guerin Catholic started the period with a 19-2 run to take its biggest lead of the game at 55-38. Culver made a comeback during the period, but GC held on for the win.

Jake Grissom led the Golden Eagles’ scoring with 24 points, followed by Hayden Rogers with 11 and Will Bach with 10. Rogers dished out nine assists. Andrew Reithman added nine points and pulled eight rebounds.

Guerin Catholic is 14-5 and hosts New Palestine tonight; it will be the Golden Eagles’ first home game since Jan. 17.
