Guerin Catholic zoomed to a victory at Lafayette Central Catholic on Friday, winning the annual Bishop’s Cup game 67-31.
The Class 3A No. 3 Golden Eagles got off to a good start, leading 12-4 after one quarter. Guerin Catholic led 22-14 at halftime, then dominated the third quarter by outscoring the Knights 28-5. That gave GC a 50-19 lead, which the Golden Eagles eventually brought up to 67-27 during the fourth quarter.
Carter Murans came off the bench to score 20 points, while Bryson Cardinal scored 18. Both pulled six rebounds. Julian Melendez scored 10 points and collected five rebounds. Ryne Paris and Andrew Reithman both dished out four assists.
Guerin Catholic is 16-2 and hosts Noblesville this afternoon.
