Girls tennis: Westfield falls to Zionsville, South Bend St. Joseph

The Westfield girls tennis team dropped two dual meets this week to two top-10 ranked opponents.

On Thursday, the No. 16 Shamrocks lost a tough 3-2 dual to No. 9 Zionsville. Westfield’s wins came from No. 1 singles Isabella Norris, who pushed through a first-set tiebreaker to win 7-6 (3), 6-0. No. 2 singles Juliette Grilliot won her match 6-2, 6-2.

The No. 1 doubles team of Jenna Berry and Bella Rivers played three tough sets before dropping their match 4-6, 6-3, 6-4. No. 3 singles Addi Kooi and No. 2 doubles Carlie Lukowiak and Bri Saylor both fell 6-2, 6-3.

On Friday, the Rocks took on No. 2 South Bend St. Joseph, falling 4-1. Lukowiak and Saylor picked the lone win at No. 2 doubles, 6-2, 6-2. In singles, Norris lost 6-3, 6-2, Grilliot fell 6-4, 6-1 and Kooi lost 6-1, 6-0. Berry and Rivera dropped the No. 1 doubles match 6-1, 6-2.

Westfield is 6-3 and plays Brownsburg on Monday.
