The Noblesville Democratic Committee met Wednesday night to talk about the upcoming elections, to talk with The Reporter about how they can more effectively get their message in Hamilton County’s Hometown Newspaper, and to hear from one of the candidates hoping to become the new Hamilton County Party Chair. Jocelyn Vare, one of two candidates for that seat, visited the Noblesville Democrats Wednesday night. The next Noblesville Democratic Committee meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 21 at the Noblesville Community Center, 372 S. 8th St.

  1. Encouraging to see that there really are a few Democrats in this county.

Besides voting since I was 18, I have never participated in anything political. I became involved in the Noblesville Democratic Committee at it’s reorganization several months ago. It has been an exciting journey so far, to meet potential candidates, to get to know local leaders, to hear from guest speakers, and to have the opportunity to participate in grass roots activities. I have lived in Noblesville for 15 years, and this is the first time I feel the Democrats have an opportunity to be represented on the ballot. It has been discouraging to vote time after time for the one or two Democratic candidates on the ballot. I have hope that this experience will change over the next few months. I encourage all Democrats to make sure they are registered to vote before election day, May 7th, and express their opinions. One vote could make a difference.
