Carmel Music Academy and a handful of the Academy’s students and staff took the stage with an outstanding Holiday Performance to open up for Central Indiana Academy of Dance’s production of The Nutcracker this past weekend, Dec. 1, 2, and 3. Performers dazzled audiences each performance with holiday classics including “Winter Wonderland,” “Do You Want To Build A Snowman?,” “Carol of the Bells,” “Let it Snow,” and more.
Jon E. Gee, bassist for John Mellencamp, and his wife, Mrs. Gee, the directors of Carmel Music Academy, have known since the beginning that the student performers would provide more than spectacular entertainment to The Nutcracker audiences.
Carmel Music Academy students who took part in the show included seven vocalists, six drummers, two pianists, two guitarists, and one bassist. Each performer included is a student who takes private lessons in their instrument of choice with one of the Academy’s respected instructors. The passion Carmel Music Academy students have for music and performing came to life as they rehearsed in every additional practice and shined even brighter when they finally got to take the stage.
