Harry Ray Noble

November 22, 1923 – July 27, 2026

Harry Ray Noble, 102, passed peacefully on July 27, 2026, in the Memory Care Unit at Riverwalk Village in Noblesville. He was born on November 22, 1923, to Earl and Fern Noble in Fort Recovery, Ohio, and was the oldest of seven children. He graduated from Fort Recovery High School in 1942. He married Betty Mae Dixon on January 15, 1944.

As a young adult, he was a farmer, worked at St. Mary’s Foundry, and was a crop inspector. It was evident that he loved speed since he was a top racer of motorcycles on flat tracks for Harley-Davidson and was second place in points in the entire United States. He would travel all across the country on weekends for the races while also holding down full-time jobs. The majority of his life he was in skilled trades as a tool and die maker for Warner Gear in Muncie. For 19 years, he worked an additional full-time job at Luiks Machine Shop in Muncie. He also got his pilot’s license and was part owner of a small airplane for many years. He enjoyed working outdoors and loved boating in his younger years.

He loved to travel in his Country Coach motorhome and enjoyed spending winters in Laughlin, Nev., and later in Ocala and Leesburg, Fla. He even drove his motorhome to Alaska by himself at the age of 90, and broke down in Canada and was stranded for several days while waiting for a tow. He was very proud of his 2005 GTO with the Lingenfelter engine and was able to drive it between Indiana and Florida until his late 90s. He loved to solve problems and was always able to find humor in any situation.

He is survived by his sons, Randy (Christina) Noble of Arcadia and Stan (Connie) Noble of Leesburg, Fla.; his brother, Dale Noble of Lady Lake, Fla.; his sister, Mary Belle Baucher of Celina, Ohio; along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his sisters, Ruth Noble, Martha Butcher, and Ester Summers; and his brother, George Noble.

The family wishes to thank the Memory Care Unit of Riverwalk Village for their loving and compassionate care of their dad for the past 2 ½ years. A special thank you to A New Hospice for the wonderful support and comfort care given in the past few weeks.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, August 3, at Hartley-Dunnichay Funeral Home in Cicero, with a visitation prior to the service from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
