Two stars of some of TV’s most famous shows visit central Indiana this week to promote their commitment to hunger relief. Actors Patrick Duffy and Linda Purl, founders of Duffy’s Dough, are introducing their line of take-and-bake artisan breads at local Kroger stores.

Duffy, a star of Dallas, Step by Step, and The Bold and the Beautiful, traces the bread recipe back to a sourdough starter presented as a gift to his mother in the 1950s.

Purl, a star of Happy Days, Matlock, and more recently The Office, says she and Patrick are grateful for the opportunity to help people in need with proceeds from the bread. One hundred percent of their profits will go to hunger relief.

Kroger offers two local opportunities this week to meet Duffy and Purl, and get autographs and pictures:

  • Fishers: 11700 Olio Road from 2 to 3 p.m. Thursday, May 21
  • Brownsburg: 975 N. Green St. from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Friday, May 22

The first 100 customers in line at both stores will receive a reusable swag bag featuring a variety of delectable Kroger products.

At the Brownsburg Kroger on Friday, Duffy’s Dough and Kroger will donate $5,000 and 100 cases of bread to Second Helpings of Indianapolis.

Find out why they say Duffy’s Dough is “what the world kneads now.”
