Marucci in the hunt at PGA Indiana Open

Noblesville’s Tyler Marucci is keeping pace with the pros at the PGA Indiana Open, which began Monday at Brickyard Crossing Golf Club in Speedway.

Marucci is a recent Noblesville graduate and playing as an amateur at the Open. After the first round of play, Marucci is part of a four-way tie for second place with a score of three under par 69. Marucci made five birdies during his Monday round. Javan Johnson of Franklin is the current leader with six under 66.

Two more players with Hamilton County ties are in the top 10 as part of a large tie for sixth place. Vince Drahman, a Noblesville graduate now in Fortville, scored two under par 70. Drahman made an eagle on the 15^th hole in addition to five birdies.

Ivan Foster, representing the Bridgewater Club, also scored 70 for his first round. Foster made six birdies.

The second round of play takes place today. There will be two waves of play, with the first group teeing off between 8 and 9:48 a.m. The second wave tees off between 1 and 2:48 p.m.
