The Westfield baseball team scored six runs in the sixth inning to run away from Harrison 10-2 in a Wednesday away game.
Gavin Russ got the Shamrocks on the board with a fourth-inning solo home run.
Westfield took the lead after scoring three runs in the fifth inning. Maddox Novotney batted in Nick Fero, Andrew Noble singled in Gabe Garcia, the Novotney scored after Russ reached on an error.
The Rocks began the sixth inning with singles from Fero and Robbie Brandenburg. Novotney singled in Fero, Beck Jordan singled in Garcia (running for Brandenburg) and Novotney scored on a wild pitch. Russ batted in Jordan and Lincoln Hoffman with a two-run single, then Aiden Grabowski got home when Brandenburg drew a bases-loaded walk.
Novotney was 3-for-4 at the plate. Evan Govert pitched five innings for the win, striking out four.
Westfield is 9-8-1 and hosts Zionsville tonight in a Hoosier Crossroads Conference game.
