First Farmers Bank & Trust has announced the retirement of two longtime members of its Board of Directors – Brad Howell and Dr. Freddie Barnard – after years of dedicated service to the bank and the communities it serves.
A special ceremony took place during the annual shareholders meeting on Wednesday, when their retirements were officially announced. The meeting marked their final board engagement, providing a fitting close to their years of leadership and commitment to First Farmers Bank & Trust and the communities they helped invest in, grow, and support.
“Brad and Freddie have been tremendous assets to First Farmers Bank & Trust, offering guidance, insight, and leadership that helped shape the direction of our organization,” First Farmers Bank & Trust President & CEO Mark Holt said. “We’re grateful for their years of dedicated service and lasting contributions – not just to the board, but to the values and culture of our bank.”
Howell, owner of Brad Howell Ford in Kokomo, joined the Board of Directors in 1996. Dr. Barnard, a professor of Agricultural Economics at Purdue University, became a board member in 2007. Both brought unique perspectives, deep industry knowledge, and an unwavering commitment to community-focused banking.
