Noblesville uses balance on both ends in road win at Harrison

The REPORTER

Tuesday night started the first of the final two road games for the Noblesville girls basketball team.

The Millers couldn’t have gotten their week off to a better start with a 68-42 win in West Lafayette over former Hoosier Crossroads Conference opponent Harrison.

Noblesville jumped out to a six-point lead through one quarter with a 17-11 advantage.

The second was similar, edging out the Raiders 15-10 to head to the locker room at halftime up double digits, 32-21.

The Millers started to widen the gap more in the third, outscoring Harrison 20-15 for 52-36 score.

Harrison just wasn’t able to keep up, scoring just six to Noblesville’s 16 in the fourth, which helped the Millers push to the 26-point rout of the Raiders.

The win extends Noblesville’s win streak to 12 games and 14 wins in its last 15.

Meredith Tippner stuffed the stat sheet with 29 points, 10 rebounds, six assists and seven steals. Ally Hutchinson complemented well with 14 points, along with six boards and six steals. C.C. Quigley pitched in with 12 points, grabbed seven rebounds and blocked three shots. Kate Rollins also had nine points and two assists.

Defensively, the Millers forced 25 Harrison turnovers, 20 of which came from steals.

Noblesville (16-3, 4-2 HCC) concludes its week on the road in their final HCC game of the season at Franklin Central (14-7, 1-4 HCC) for a 12:30 p.m. tipoff on Saturday.
