Hoosier Democrats kick off “Break the Supermajority” tour in Carmel

On Wednesday, Indiana Democratic Party Chair Mike Schmuhl joined State Rep. Victoria Garcia Wilburn (D-Fishers), Indiana House candidates Matt McNally and Josh Lowry, and Indiana Senate candidate Joel Levi to kick off the Spring 2024 “Break the Supermajority” tour at the Carmel Clay Public Library.

The candidates said they are excited to talk to voters across their districts and bring more balance to Indiana.

“Our slate of candidates across the state are everyday Hoosiers that are focusing on issues that are near and dear to Hoosier households,” State Rep. Garcia Wilburn said. “With that focus we bring a certain level of passion. Myself with mental health, Matt McNally with veterans’ issues, Josh Lowry with foster care, and Joel Levi with gun safety. These are personal issues to us, and we know if they mean something to a majority of Hoosier households – and that’s the agenda you’ll see from Democrats on your ballot.”

The tour has several stops planned across the state, which will be announced over the next month.

“Over the next month, we’ll be stopping across Indiana to speak with Hoosiers about the power they have to break the excessive Republican supermajority,” Schmuhl said. “Just four more Democratic seats in the State House will bring more balance to every committee and help stop and change bad legislation before it gets to the governor.”
