Zionsville teacher named Chaucie’s Champion

The Indiana Center for Prevention of Youth Abuse and Suicide (ICPYAS), formerly known as Chaucie’s Place, has announced Maggie Ioannacci, Director of Student Services for Zionsville Community School Corporation, as the 2024 Chaucie’s Champion.

This prestigious award recognizes individuals who demonstrate exceptional dedication to prevention education, making a lasting impact on the community.

Ioannacci has been instrumental in advancing the cause of child safety and mental health awareness within Zionsville schools. Her unwavering commitment to implementing prevention education programs, including Child Lures Prevention, Teen Lures Prevention, and Signs of Suicide, has significantly contributed to creating a safer and more informed educational environment.

“I am deeply honored to receive the Chaucie’s Champion award,” Ioannacci said. “It is a testament to the collective efforts of our school community in prioritizing the well-being of our students. Prevention education is a crucial component of fostering a safe and supportive learning environment, and I am grateful for the collaboration with the Indiana Center for Prevention of Youth Abuse and Suicide.”

Under Ioannacci’s leadership, Zionsville Community School Corporation has emerged as a model for comprehensive prevention education. Her commitment to the well-being of students goes beyond traditional academic concerns, recognizing the importance of addressing issues related to child sexual abuse and youth suicide.

Ioannacci will be honored at the 13th annual Rise Up for Kids Breakfast to be held from 7:30 to 9 a.m. on Thursday, April 25 at the Ritz Charles in Carmel. Tickets are still available at indianaprevention.org/events.
