This July, The Salvation Army in Hamilton County is working alongside Walmart to bring a special “Christmas in July” Red Kettle campaign to Walmart stores and Sam’s Club in Hamilton County, offering shoppers an opportunity to give back during a meaningful summer activation.
On Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, starting July 9, shoppers visiting Walmart or Sam’s Club in Hamilton County will see The Salvation Army’s Red Kettles stationed outside, where donations will support individuals and families in need across central Indiana.
Funds raised will support the Harbor Light Center’s recovery programs, which help thousands of Hoosiers each year to break the bonds of addiction. This initiative reflects the ongoing relationship between Walmart and The Salvation Army, focused on meeting local needs and strengthening communities nationwide.
“The Salvation Army uses funds raised in our Red Kettles to bring God’s Hands and Feet to those suffering,” said Envoy Charlotte Coffer, Pastor of The Salvation Army Harbor Light Center. “Just a few hours ringing a bell can make a big impact by removing barriers and providing hope.”
The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign has long been a symbol of hope and generosity, traditionally centered around the holiday season. This summer activation extends that spirit, offering another opportunity for community members to make a meaningful impact – bringing hope, joy, and practical support to neighbors in need year-round.
Community members are encouraged to stop by the Red Kettles at Walmart or Sam’s Club in Hamilton County starting on July 9 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to give with joy and support local families. Volunteers are still needed to ring the bell. Anyone interested in volunteering can visit salarmy.us/indianavolunteer or click on the specific volunteer links for each location below:
