Volleyball: Southeastern sweeps Noblesville, Guerin Catholic sweeps Herron

The Hamilton Southeastern volleyball team got a hard-fought sweep of Noblesville Thursday in an all-county and Hoosier Crossroads Conference match.

The Royals won 31-29, 25-20, 25-22 at The Mill. The victory moves Southeastern to 24-0 for the season and 6-0 in the conference. Noblesville is 3-3 in the conference and 17-6 overall.

Both teams will be in action Saturday at the North vs. South Showdown Saturday at Center Grove.

Guerin Catholic swept Herron Thursday in its Senior Night match, 25-19, 25-18, 25-19.

Paige Mascari hit 13 kills for the Golden Eagles and served four aces, with Hailey Lytle hitting three aces and handing out 21 assists. Lizzie Caron dished out 10 assists. Keira Wolf made 14 digs and Mascari collected 11 digs.

Guerin Catholic is 10-17 and plays Saturday at the Greenfield-Central Round Robin.

Westfield dropped a tight four-set HCC match to Avon Thursday, 25-23, 22-25, 25-20, 25-23.

Carsyn Comer had 18 kills for the Shamrocks on a .615 hitting percentage. Chloe Sutake and Audrey Bassett both put down 10 kills. Stella Neale collected 16 digs, while Izzy Jackson dished out 23 assists and Lilly Stanton handed out 22 assists.

Westfield is 1-5 in the conference and 12-13 overall. The ‘Rocks play Saturday morning at Plainfield.

Carmel fell to Plainfield Thursday in four sets, 25-23, 25-19, 19-25, 25-23.

The Greyhounds are 9-15 and play Tuesday at McCutcheon.

University fell to Bishop Chatard in straight sets Thursday, 25-19, 25-12, 25-5.

Leyla Ercan had nine kills for the Trailblazers, who are 9-8 and host Herron tonight.
