The Hawthorns hosting Girls State Junior Championship

Championship season continues for the Indiana Golf Foundation’s junior tour, with The Hawthorns Golf and Country Club hosting the Girls State Junior Championship this week.
The tournament began on Tuesday with the first of three rounds. Fifteen Hamilton County players made the 80-woman cut, including three landing in the top 10. Carmel’s Katie Kuc, an incoming junior for the Greyhounds, is tied for second with an even-par 72. Kuc made four birdies in her round, including three in a row on holes 3, 4 and 5.
Carmel’s Angelica Pfefferkorn, a senior-to-be at Guerin Catholic is tied for sixth after carding a 77. Pfefferkorn had three birdies in her round. Fishers’ Chelsea Morrow, a recent Hamilton Southeastern graduate and incoming freshman at Indiana State University, is tied for 10th with an 80, making two birdies during her round.
Today’s action starts at 8 a.m., with players teeing off on the first and 10th holes through 9:57 a.m. Here are results for Hamilton County golfers.
