Staten B. Zook, 61, Greenfield, passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2023. Born on October 15, 1962, in Indianapolis, he was the son of Joseph Clemens Zook and Norma Pauline (Sexson) Zook.
Staten graduated from Hamilton Heights High School in Arcadia and attended Ball State University. From 1989 until 1992, he served in the United States Navy. For many years, he worked as a security guard. Staten was a big sports fan, especially the Colts and Pacers. He was an animal lover and loved his cats.
Staten is survived by his brothers, Jay (Jeanine) Zook of Greenfield, Jerry Zook of Indianapolis, and Joe (Lori) Zook of Cicero; sister, Jenny (Howard) Joe of Crawfordsville; nephew, Brandon (Maira) Howard of Lafayette; and nieces, Jada (Eric) Lutzke of Jacksonville, Fla., and Jena Zook of Indianapolis. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Norma.
Services will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. U.S. Hwy. 40, Greenfield. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. A memorial service will begin at 5 p.m.
