Carmel Mayor Sue Finkam announced on Wednesday, June 17, that S&P Global Ratings reaffirmed the city’s ‘AA’ rating.
In its assessment, S&P Global Ratings credited Carmel’s robust local economy, praising “the city’s economic strength, coupled with disciplined management.”
The affirmation from S&P is among the highest ratings currently given to any similarly sized city in the state.

“The rating illustrates our commitment to improving the overall financial health of Carmel,” Mayor Finkam said.
Notable companies with AA category bond ratings by S&P Global Ratings include tech and retail giants like Amazon and Nvidia, as well as Berkshire Hathaway.
