Right before Mother’s Day, some Sheridan Youth Assistance Program mentoring students and their mentors got together to beautify the outdoor space at the Sheridan Majestic Care assisted living facility. Youth and mentors learned on the job as they filled 10 large pots with flowers for porches and installed hanging baskets of flowers outside resident rooms. It was a beautiful morning to volunteer.
Each month, the community mentoring program holds an event for mentors and youth to experience something new together. New community mentors are needed to spend time with a Sheridan student and serve as a positive role model.
